If you are reading this, then you are probably wondering what we are doing with your information when you visit our websites (collectively, the “Site”).  We take your privacy very seriously.  Hopefully this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) will set your mind at ease so that you can go enjoy the Site.
By visiting the Site you agree to the following:

1. DEFINITIONS
“Personal Information” is specific identifiable information about an individual or entity which can be used to identify, contact or locate that person or entity.  This is information like your name, mailing address, email address and phone number.
“Financial Information” means information relating to payments and billing (e.g., name, credit card information, billing address, etc.) that you provide in connection with using the Site.  Your Financial Information is collected for billing and payment purposes ONLY and will be protected and administered by us and/or our authorized third-party partners.
“Non-Personal Information” is information that, by itself, does not identify a specific individual or entity.  This is information like demographics, usage data and downloads.
Personal Information, Financial Information, and Non-Personal Information are collectively called “Information.”

2.  SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU SHARING WITH VOTIV? 
(a) Information You Provide.  We may collect and store Information that you give us or that we acquire through your use of the Site.  Sometimes, you can choose whether or not to provide Information. But if you choose not to share certain Information, some features on the Site may be unavailable.  You might also provide Information whenever you interact with the Site, including, when you search the Site, participate in a contest, survey or questionnaire, shop our online store, or communicate with us by phone or email.
(b) Information Collected Automatically or Through Technology.  We may collect Non-Personal Information using various technologies.  For example, we may use your Non-Personal Information to make the Site better and have better targeted ads for you to peruse.  Here are some of the methods we may use to gather information:
Cookies. Cookies allow us (and third-party advertisers) to do things like identify where traffic is originating and target ads based on your preferences and browsing habits. Cookies do not generally contain any Personal Information. We may share Non-Personal Information with these third-party advertisers, but we will not provide any Personal Information or Financial Information.  Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually configure your browser to prevent this. We recommend that you leave them turned on to get the full effect of the Site and check out applicable advertisers’ websites for their privacy policies.

Metadata. Metadata is collected to help us monitor your system usage and, in certain instances, prevent fraud. Some examples of metadata that we may collect and analyze include your IP address, computer and connection information (such as browser type, version and time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform), the URL click sequence to, through and from the Site including date and time, cookie number and any products, services or features you interact with in connection with the Site.

Tools. We may use software tools to measure and collect information about your use of the Site including page response times, upload and file transfer errors, interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks and mouse-overs), features use, purchase tracking and order fulfillment and methods.
(c) Information from Other Sources. We may receive Information about you from our third-party service providers or other sources such as purchase or redemption information, Site usage, payment information, reporting information page-view information, technical, fulfillment, advertising, search information and credit history information.

3.  HOW INFORMATION IS USED, SHARED AND DISCLOSED. 
We don’t sell, rent, lease or disclose your Personal Information to third-parties, unless you consent to it or we talk about it in this Policy.  We use Information, among other things, to analyze and monitor system performance, analyze internal business systems, improve the Site, fulfill requests for additional products and services, contact you about promotional and marketing activities and conduct research. The use and protection of Information is an important component of our business and we take commercially responsible actions to keep your Information safe.  Did you catch all of that?  Here are a few examples of how we share and disclose Information:
(a) Legal. We may disclose Information to respond to subpoenas, court orders and other legal processes as well as to establish/exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We will share Personal Information in order to investigate, prevent or take action against illegal activities, suspected fraud, potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Use [www.votiv.is/terms] or as otherwise required by law.
(b) Emails. We may use your Personal Information to send you emails about promotions, events or other awesome things you might find interesting. You can opt-out of getting emails by following the instructions provided in the email. Whether you opt out of receiving emails or not, we reserve the right to email you about important, non-commercial information like changes relating to the Site or our business.
(c) Business Transfers. We may reorganize, get acquired or take on subsidiaries. If we do, the Information you provide may be transferred as a business asset. If this happens, your Information will remain subject to any pre-existing privacy polices (unless you consent otherwise.) We reserve the right to transfer any Information collected from you if one of the above business transfers does occur.  We may also provide your Information, including your Personal Information, to related companies in the Votiv family.
(d)  Affiliated Businesses We Do Not Control. We may use third-party companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, processing payments, hosting, data storage, sending postal mail and email, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, providing search results and links (including paid listings and links), processing credit card payments and providing customer service. We will provide such entities with access to certain Information needed to perform their functions.  

4. SECURITY. 
No security system is completely secure, but Votiv will take reasonable steps to protect against unauthorized access or disclosure of the Information we collect.  

5. PROMOTIONS SUCH AS CONTESTS AND SWEEPSTAKES. 
We love to give stuff away!  If you participate in any of our promotional events (like contests or sweepstakes), there may be a separate registration process which may require you to provide Personal Information. This Policy does not automatically apply to the Personal Information you might share when you participate in promotional events.  The rules related to each promotion will let you know how the Personal Information you provide specifically for the promotion may be used.  

6.  ACCESSING AND UPDATING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
If your Personal Information changes, you may make corrections and updates, delete inaccuracies, or request deletion or further contact with you by contacting us at info@votiv.is.   We will do our very best to respond to your access request within 30 days.

7. MINORS.
We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from persons under the age of 18. If it comes to our attention that Personal Information has been collected from a person under the age of 18, we will delete this information as soon as possible. If you believe that we may have Personal Information from or about a child under the age of 18, please let us know by emailing us at the email address below so that we can take action.

8. CONDITIONS OF USE/CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY. 
Any dispute relating to the use of your information as described herein is subject to this Policy and our Terms of Use [www.votiv.is/terms]. We reserve the right to change this Policy.  Your continued use means you are okay with the changes.
